President, Social Velocity
Nell Edgington is President of Social Velocity, a management consulting firm for nonprofits. At Social Velocity she helps nonprofit leaders chart a strategic direction, achieve financial sustainability, engage their boards, and become more effective leaders.
In addition to leading Social Velocity, Edgington writes and speaks extensively about moving the nonprofit sector and the philanthropy that funds it to become more effective at creating social change. Author of the popular Social Velocity blog, Edgington has also contributed to many leading philanthropy blogs. She is also a member of the national Leap Ambassadors Community, a network of more than 70 nonprofit thought leaders and practitioners working to create a high performing nonprofit sector.
Prior to Social Velocity, Edgington worked for several nonprofit organizations across the country (including Public Broadcasting Service, the Oregon Children’s Foundation, and the Capital Area Food Bank) in management positions, raising millions of dollars, leading teams, transforming fundraising and marketing functions, developing strategic plans, and revamping boards.
She has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
