Making National Change State By State

Funders pursuing change often focus on advocacy at the national level, but change often occurs state by state. What can be learned from the experience of funders and organizations working to reform the juvenile justice system? While a flurry of reforms have been adopted in many states across the country, the United States continues to incarcerate youth at the highest rate in the world. The session will explore how several foundations have joined forces to strategically fund Youth First!, a national initiative to support individual state-based campaigns working to end youth incarceration in juvenile prisons and ensure youth succeed.
