Rodney Christopher

Director, Capital Markets, The F.B. Heron Foundation

Rodney Christopher is a Director on the Capital Markets team at Heron, where he contributes to Heron’s efforts to invest 100% of its endowment for mission — which includes making sizable multi-year grants to nonprofits to help them achieve greater impact while building and maintaining a healthy enterprise. Previously, he spent 15 years developing the consulting practice at Nonprofit Finance Fund, where he had the privilege of serving as a trainer and consultant to more than 400 nonprofits and 80 grantmaking foundations. Rodney’s clients were in 30 states and across subsectors including human services, arts & culture, education and community development. In the five years between his two stints at NFF, he worked in television production — as story coordinator at All My Children and as a script production assistant on Saturday Night Live. Rodney holds an M.S. in urban policy analysis and management from The New School and a B.A., summa cum laude, in social sciences from Bard College at Simon’s Rock. He has served on several boards, currently that of Bard College at Simon’s Rock, which exclusively educates younger scholars, and CoMetrics, an established co-operative building critical data infrastructure for impact investors and other cohorts of social enterprises.
