This session will explore the leadership journeys of Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton and environmental crusader Rachel Carson with an eye to understanding how each of these individuals accomplished their missions in the midst of ongoing volatility. We will also examine the key lessons that each of these people learned as they made themselves—in the midst of crisis—into effective leaders in service to a mighty cause. Finally, we will look at how and why these lessons are relevant today, in our own moment of widespread, nonstop turbulence.
